Can someone please tell me why spaces are not showing up in between my paragraphs??? It is very annoying and ugly to read.

Alhamdulillah yesterday I had some free time without iBaby. I had reservations about being away from him, BUT my husband was with him and he actually convinced me that getting out and clearing my mind would be good for me! He was right! I missed iBaby while gone, but it wasn't terrible. I think if he had not been with his Baaba, I would have felt differently, or maybe I would not have gone. I got in my car and drove. Oh my, did it feel good. I cranked up some Frank Sinatra ("All of Me") and enjoyed every measure. It so reminded me of my mother, she would clean the house on Sunday morning to her favorite music, Sinatra being one of her all time fave artists. I was gone about 1 1/2 hrs, ran a few errands and just enjoyed it.

"You know- you got the part, that once was my heart......so why not, why not take all of me"

Oh- I had a post-op check up with my OB/GYN on Friday, and she went absolutely nuts over iBaby. She even remembered that he has fuzz on his ankles and shoulders! We took a few snapshots of them together, and then talked about health. Are you ready???

I am 49, yes FORTY-NINE pounds lighters than my first pregnancy visit! Can you believe that? I almost fainted! Everyone has been telling me that I look like Ive melted away and look great, but I'm so tired, and still recovering- so I don't feel it. Alhamdulillah I developed really good eating habits during pregnancy due to diabetes and chronic hypertension, to protect iBaby, and in the end, I reaped a huge benefit. I no longer have to take anti-hypertensive medication, and my blood glucose no longer needs to be monitored! Mashaallah! The breakdown: I lost 22lbs during the pregnancy and 27 after delivery! Oh yea! All this eating every 2 hours, and choosing the right foods- and we had plenty of calories too. I hope inshaallah I can continue on this path to loose 35 more lbs, and be in the best shape possible for my son, and my family. I want to run and play with him, as well as show him how to take care of the bodies Allah swt gave us. My husband and I want to get bikes so we can take nature trails through our gorgeous parks. I would like to start hiking- we've got lots of trails and nature walks around us. Alhamdulillah.

Finally- all the Arabian styled clothing my husband's family sent me is starting to fit, and I am sure they would love to see me in it. I would love to wear some of it too- there are a few gorgeous abayas/jilbabs (whats the difference???) that would be perfect for the Eids.

Each day, I find new hope and new joy- I am finally starting to feel like a true mommy (it took a few weeks), and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Assalamu alaykum ;)

Mabrouk! I've been out of touch for a while to add people on my lost list of blogs. I'm so proud fo you for loosing all that weight. I've bene loosing weight too so i know that it's a truggle but with such wonderful things to loose it for alhamdulliah it's gone. Yes being away from baby takes time to adust but don't get hooked on it because you'll start relying on time away and then when it doesnt appear you'll be dissapointed. Middle of the night netting is my "time away" sprinkled every two hours or one hour with baby feedings.
Jilbabs are the ones you wear inside the house usually bright colored and soetimes have slits at calf length or wide sleeves that if around men you have to wear pants and sleeves under it. Abayas are for outside the home and are usually one colored in pale/brown/grey/black/pastel shades that have snaps/buttons/velcro to close them and are made of a heavier material than the jilbabs.
hmm now that I'm trying to think about it harder could I be mixing the names? Heh mother's loose memories faster tahn others. either way that's the difference between them no matter what they are called. You DO NOT wear an inside dress outside in the middle east (though you get away with it in Europe USA because they dont know anybetter) or you will be shaming your family/self. lol. i tried to wear a jilbab out once and was told off by my mother-in-law.
COngrats on the baby I'll check your other posts later as it's not fajr and time for me to pray and go to sleep. My me time is over.

YAY! It sounds like things are falling into place perfectly :). 49pounds? That is awesome! I have only gained about 12 lbs so far but I'd like to lose at least 50 in total after Hybrid is born.

Re Jilbab vs Abaya:

To my understanding jilbab is a more structured almost like coatdress and abayas are more dress like. They are both considered outer garments and both come in a variety of colors and fabrics (I have my eye on a denim jilbab). HTH

ma'a salaamah,

ha

Assalam-alaikam Sister iMuslimah,
I'm glad to hear that you are recovering well.

Hee hee hairy baby. My littlest baby was a gorilla baby when he was born (he had some hairy man thighs and shoulders)but it all dissappeared after a few months. Glad you got a little while on your own - nice for just a little while isn't it.

Lovely to hear that you're enjoying being a mommy, it gets better and better insh'Allah.

Oh PS: Blogger has fits and sometimes makes the double space itself, and sometimes you have to do it. It drives me crazy, too :)

Assalamu alaykum all!

Thanks for checking in. Oh iBaby is so furry, the shoulders, biceps, ankles, ears and lower back are covered with black hair LOL. His hair line turns into his eyebrows, and he has little black sideburns. I cant stand it, its so cute. Aye aye aye!!! Oh did I mention his long eyelashes?

Alhamdulillah I am feeling so blessed to have him.

Miss muslimah: Oh I just love him to pieces ;) Also, I didnt gain anything during the pregnancy, I lost 22 lbs...I had to follow a gestational diabetes diet. So, im 49 lbs lighter 3 weeks post partum, than I was at my 4th week of pregnancy!

Salams sis.

AMW: Thanks for the in-depth comment, and for using your "me" time on, me! As far as depending on having time for myself, Ive quickly learned that its not a guarantee. Ill take it when I can get it! Alhamdulillah my husband is pretty darn good about making sure I get some, as I do the same for him.

Salams!

Umm Salihah: Gorilla huh? The hairier the cuter, I say LOL! Mashaallah your children are so beautiful. I love the way iBaby tuckes his bottom lip under his top lip. It squares out his jaw and makes his cheeks look sublime ;)

Salams!

Saffiyah: Hey there! Thanks for stopping in :) The space between paragrpahs issue is still driving me nuts. Its hit or miss no matter what I try. Thanks though- maybe I can eventually work out the kinks.

Salams!

Hijabi: What is HTH? Glad to hear your are doing well (from a previous comment). Savor every moment of Hybrids gestation. I truly do miss it, and well- get as much sleep as you can LOL!

Salaams!

Salaams Lady D,

Masha'allah!

I hear that with gestational diabetes the baby can get "too big" in the womb, thus creating problems for mommy...alhamdulillah you didnt have to go through that...it may have been all those fruit salads with bananas and grapefruit-your favorite! LOL ;-)

iMuslimah said...

J-Whoa!

Yea- Gestational Diabetes can cause macrosomia- abnormally large babies. Alhamdulillah I avoided all that :)

I ate a LOT of fruit salad LOL.

Salaams,

D.
